About the Scholarship Committee
The BAP Scholarship Committee exists to help ensure our scholarships are fair, mission-aligned, and community-centered. Committee members support the review and selection process using objective, nondiscriminatory criteria, while protecting the integrity and privacy of applicants.

What You’ll Do
As a committee member, you may be asked to:
- Review scholarship applications using a scoring rubric
- Participate in selection meetings and decision discussions
- Help ensure decisions are objective and consistent
- Support improvements to the scholarship process over time
- Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards throughout the process

Who Should Apply
We welcome both men and women and encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds. You do not need a clinical background to apply.
Ideal committee members are:
- Mission-driven and community-minded
- Organized and dependable
- Able to review applications objectively and confidentially
- Comfortable collaborating in a group setting
- Committed to fairness, integrity, and professionalism

Requirements
To be considered, applicants must:
- Be 18 years or older
- Complete the Scholarship Committee application in full
- Agree to confidentiality expectations (required)
- Disclose any potential conflicts of interest (required)
- Be able to participate in committee meetings (virtual/in-person as scheduled)
- Be willing to follow BAP’s scholarship policies and selection guidelines
Preferred (not required):
- Experience in education, mentoring, youth development, nonprofit work, HR, scholarship programs, community leadership, or related fields
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail

Time Commitment
Committee members can expect:
- Committee service on a volunteer basis
- Estimated 2–5 hours per month, with a higher commitment during scholarship review windows.
- A seasonal workload that may increase during application review periods
- Occasional meetings (virtual and/or in-person), scheduled in advance

Selection Process
Here’s what to expect after you apply:

Application Submission
Complete and submit the online application. -
Initial Review
Applications are reviewed for alignment with committee needs and requirements. -
Follow-Up (If Needed)
Selected applicants may be invited for a brief phone or virtual interview. -
Committee Selection & Confirmation
Final committee members will be notified via email and provided next steps. -
Onboarding
Approved members complete onboarding and sign a confidentiality statement.
Please note: Submitting an application does not guarantee placement. We are building a balanced committee and may keep strong applicants in consideration for future openings.
