Meeting people where they are—serving with dignity across Metro Atlanta.
|
"Sometimes it’s easy to assume people have access to transportation—but through serving our neighbors, we’ve found that many do not. Transportation should never be the reason someone goes without basics like clean clothing, socks, or hygiene items." - Founder, Daiyzah Glenn
Community Closet on Wheels is a mobile outreach initiative by Blazor Apparel Projects that delivers clothing and hygiene essentials directly to individuals experiencing housing instability across Metro Atlanta. Instead of requiring people to travel to a location, we bring the resources to them through pop-up, shop-style experiences that promote dignity and choice. Launched in 2023, this initiative was created to meet individuals where they are—both physically and mentally—removing barriers and making support more accessible and consistent. |

How It Works
Through the support of our sponsors, partners, and community donors, we collect and repurpose essential items year-round to serve our community. Donations are received on a continuous, month-to-month basis and organized to meet the evolving needs of those we serve.
Each month, we distribute donated items to our partner facilities based on their anticipated needs. Items are sorted and delivered by size, gender, and quantity, allowing us to provide thoughtful, customized support depending on the population each partner serves.
At the end of each quarter, during the third month, we host our Community Day outreach event. During this time, remaining items are taken directly into the community and distributed on the streets to individuals in need, ensuring no usable donations go to waste and that support reaches those who may not be connected to a facility or partner organization.
What We're Doing Right Now
Through Community Closet on Wheels, our team is actively collecting, organizing, and delivering donated essentials through outreach deployments and pop-up distribution spaces.
Current execution includes:
- Delivering clothing and hygiene essentials directly to individuals near Woodruff Park and surrounding areas.
- Hosting pop-up closet experiences that allow individuals to choose what fits their needs.
- Distributing items through community partners, group homes, and local facilities across Fulton, Henry, Clayton, and DeKalb counties
- Repurposing community donations into consistent, on-the-ground outreach support.
Our Impact
Community Closet on Wheels allows Blazor Apparel Projects to serve individuals experiencing housing instability with consistency, care, and dignity across Metro Atlanta.
Through this initiative, we:
- Deliver essential clothing and hygiene items monthly to partner facilities, group homes, and organizations based on their specific needs
- Sort and distribute items by size, gender, and quantity, ensuring donations are practical and thoughtfully matched
- Conduct quarterly Community Day outreach events, bringing remaining items directly into the streets to reach individuals not connected to facilities
- Remove access barriers by eliminating the need for transportation and fixed locations
- Build trust through direct, recurring community presence, meeting people where they are
By combining structured monthly logistics with hands-on street outreach, ensures donated items are used effectively and reach those who need them most—turning community generosity into real, on-the-ground impact.
Our Vision for the Future
Our goal is to expand this initiative by operating dedicated cargo vans owned and managed by Blazor Apparel Projects. These vans will allow us to carry more inventory, reach additional communities, and respond more efficiently to the needs of individuals and partner organizations across Georgia.
By operating our own mobile units, we will be able to increase the frequency of deliveries, serve more locations consistently, and extend our outreach beyond pop-up events and quarterly distributions. This expansion will strengthen our ability to meet people where they are, reduce access barriers, and ensure donated items are distributed with intention, care, and dignity.
As Community Closet on Wheels continues to grow, dedicated cargo vans will play a critical role in helping us scale our impact while maintaining the personalized, community-centered approach that defines our work.
